Hola!! This week has been full of so many good things but here are some highlights!!
Fourth of July was this week! All of us were kinda sad because we thought that we wouldn't be able to celebrate it being in Mexico, but the CCM actually made it so fun for us! Our whole district wore our most festive outfits, and they had a great American lunch for us! They had hotdogs, hamburgers, watermelon, root beer, and cute little cookies! I loved it! (Even though I think we all got sick from it lol)
That night we had a devotional led by the CCM President and his Wife, and we closed the devo by singing America the Beautiful. The spirit was so strong, I love my Country so much!!
Also, the weather here has been pretty crazy the past week. The mornings start off pretty cold, then it gets hot, then it gets super rainy and thundering at night. Last night was some of the loudest lightning I've ever heard! I wasn't scared at all...
This past week I've been really getting into reading the Book of Mormon. If you haven't read it.. do it!!! It's crazy how this book was written so long ago, but relates exactly to what I'm feeling and going through today. I'm so excited to get to DC in two weeks to share the goodness of this book with others!!
I love my district so much!! It's crazy to think in just a few weeks we've all grown so close and feel like a family. One of my favorite moments from this week as a district was when we invited the Elders to come work out with us, and we all got on the bikes and worked out together. It was so funny and we definitely got some weird looks from people lol. The Elders then invited us to go to their gym, where we all lifted together. Districts who workout together stay together lol. I also love that we are able to have fun together, and at the same time we have some super crazy spiritual moments together.
This Wednesday was one month on the mission!! It's crazy to think it's already been one month, and It's awesome to see how much I've already grown in my Spanish and in my testimony of Jesus Christ. I'm so excited to see how I will continue to grow in these next 17 months!!
My favorite scripture scripture from these week, Alma 5:33 - "Behold, he sendeth an invitation unto all men, for the arms of mercy are extended towards them, and he saith: Repent, and I will receive you" I know that god is waiting for us to turn to him with open arms, and all that he asks of us is to repent and come unto him. I love this gospel so very much, and I'm excited to learn and grow more in the gospel and as a person!!
Love you all<3
