Hey!!
This week was great, really busy, but great!
We started off the week with exchanges with the english sister training leader trainers (or the sister APS) and it was so interesting to go to an English area and see how they do the work. It's so different from the Spanish program, but I learned a lot!!
It really made me appreciate my calling as a Spanish missionary for sure.
Wednesday, we went to the district council in Woodbridge aka hoodbridge, and it was fun! I got to see my old comp hermana Packer, and we had an exchange after district council in their area.
While we were waiting for a friend to confirm with us for a lesson, I called a reference that we got from Facebook whos name was milton, because he wanted me to explain a little bit more about what happens at our church. After getting to know him, I asked him if he has ever heard about the book of mormon. He said no, so I started explaining about Joseph smith, the apostasy, prophets, and the first vision. After I taught the whole restauration on the phone, milton asked, "how do I get one of those books? I need to read it!" I we scheduled to meet up the next day, and then we hung up.
I was so stunned afterwards. That was probably the best phone contact I have had so far on my mission. He had so many great questions, and he really wanted to learn more. It was so cool to see how the holy ghost spoke through me during this call.
The next day, we had weekly planning, and then we had another lesson with Milton. We gave him a book of mormon, and then explained a little bit more about Joseph smith. He was so excited to learn more, and said he was going to read the book of mormon!
Friday was a rough day for me. I think after being on a spiritual high most of the week, Satan was really working hard to bring me down, but he hasn't crushed my spirits!! We had exchanges again, and we basically spent the whole day getting rejected or getting bashed. By the end of the day I was on the brink of tears, and then we meet another guy who bashed us and was trying to convince us that God doesn't exist.
But I think experience like this only help to strengthen my testimony. Talk to this man, I felt so sad to see that he has no hope in his life. I know that my testimony and belief in God and Jesus Christ has brought so much hope, light, and joy to my life. I hope everyone has the chance to feel the joy that I feel.
Saturday was a busy day,
- we started out by having a Bible study with an 11 year old at 8:30am, we taught him the creation of the world (he's so cute)
- we had another lesson with Milton, who read some of the book of mormon!! He also brought us some really gross soy milk that we had to drink and pretend that we liked it.
- had another lesson with a guy who drives Uber. He's cool
- we meet up with the ZLs to plan some fun stuff for our zone!!
- we had a pass of lesson with the other elders in our ward. Their friend named liliana has a baptism date, but she moved to our area so they passed her off to us. She's super cute, 18 years old, lives by herself, and we also found out that she's our next door neighbor.
- we went to the lavanderÃa to do our laundry and confirm with out friends for church at 8pm, and it was filled with some very interesting people. I love Annandale.
On sunday, we walked with Liliana to church, and we had 3 other friends come!
Overall a great week!! I love this work, I love this gospel, I love all of you, and I love Jesus Christ!!!
Have a great week!
