Hola a todos! Another week by, full of lots of interesting experiences haha.
We had 4 exchanges this week, so it was very busy week, but It was so fun to be b able to do the work with the other hermanas in my zone.
Our first exchange was with a new missionary and her trainer, and it was so fun to be able to help the new hermanas adjust to the mission. We went to IHOP for dinner (yum), and then we went to a neighborhood to knock some doors. The cherry blossoms here in Virginia are SO BEAUTIFUL and they are everywhere, so my camera roll is full of pictures of them haha.
That night we went to knock the door of an inactive member who I've never met before. No one answered the door, but I felt like we should stay and wait to see if someone comes home, and right after we left the doorstep a big truck pulled up and Sonia (the member) got out of the truck! She was so excited to see her, and we talked for a while. I've been wanted to help the less active members in our area, I'm so glad that I listened to the spirit to stay!
Wednesday we went to falls church for our exchange, and we went a neighborhood called, "El Salvador" because everyone there is from el salvador. I had so much fun chatting it up with everyone, and we met some really interesting people.
Friday we had another exchange, and that night we went back to Sonias house. We found out that her two daughters aren't baptized, and that she wants us to help them prepare for there baptism! She is so cute!!
Saturday we confirmed with our friends for church, and we had a lesson with our friend Miriam. We extended a baptismal date for the 27th of April, and she said she will pray about it. We are praying so hard for her!!!
That night I had an exchange back in my old ward in old town, and I got to see some of the members there!!
Sunday we were told in the morning that they needed us to teach primary in church, so we went without a plan but it was super fun. We had the kids color, and then I played the piano for singing time, and we played a game in the end.
This week has been very busy, which has been kind of hard because we haven't had much time in our own area to help our friends progress. It's hard to find the balance of helping the other hermanas and there areas, and also focusing on our own areas, but we will get it!
Please pray for our friend Miriam that she will be able to get baptized this month!!
We have a friend named Angel who's wife died 6 months ago. We've stopped by his house a few times, but we have never been able to go inside because he lives alone, so we've had a lot of door contacts. We asked him about his wife and how he met her, and he told us about there first date at the zoo and how much he was in love with her. The last 2 and a half years he quit his job to take care of her, and he said that they always talked about there first date at the zoo. He is lonely, doesn't have a job, and got evicted from his house that he lived in for 50 years. We don't even know if he has interested in the church, but just being able to talk to him and show him that he is not alone, has been one of the most fulfilling things I've done on my mission.
I love you all, I'm so glad to know that I am not in this work alone.
