Week 9: Sterling, VA

Wow this week has been so good. Definitely a week filled with miracles and answered prayers.

After two weeks of walking on the mission.... we got a car!! This was honestly an answer to my prayers, even though it might sound silly. The past few weeks have been great, but it's just been so hot and I've gotten so many bug bites, that I've been feeling discouraged and tired. Thursday night in my prayers, I asked for help, because I was having a really hard time staying motivated. The next day right when we woke up, we got a phone call from the APs saying how we got a car!!! I knew right then that God knew my struggles and that it was an answer to my prayer.

Also, this area is the best ever. If you ever have a chance to go to Sterling, Virginia you should go. I am so blessed to be here and talk to all of these amazing people who have some of the best stories.

There's a hermano in our ward who is a recent convert, who is also one of the strongest members I've met. Turns out, he used to be a leader of a gang and did all of this bad stuff before the missionaries knocked on his door. It's crazy to think how our simple action of inviting someone to church can have a greater impact then we will ever realize.

Another thing, we are teaching some really cool people, and most of them are from Peru! There are so many Peruvians here and they are all the best. They also always talk about how good Peruvian food is, but I haven't tried it yet!!!

One guy we are teaching, his name is Luis Enrique, and he's this old guy from Peru. He is such a sweet guy, and although he gets confused some/most of the time about what we are saying, (he's going deaf) his heart is so good and he always makes sure to tell us how he's read the book of Mormon everyday and what he likes about what he read.

Another one of my favorites is this guy named Gabriel. He's also from Peru, and he's 25 years old, and kind of shy. But he is so sweet and even though he works super busy weeks at work, he makes time to meet with us.

One of the hardest parts about teaching Latinos is that they are all so hard working, so they never have time to meet. That's when you know that they are really interested, if they take time out of their busy schedule to talk to us.

Also we had a baptism this week to the Tello family!! The little boys are so crazy and we're laughing at her sister when she was getting baptized, and yelling at each other during the confirmations, but.. they are such a cute family and I'm so haply for them<3

Wow I love the people here so much and am seriously so lucky to be here. One thing I love about being a missionary, is that It doesn't matter what I say, or how broken my Spanish is, or if I feel awkward, or anything else. God wants his children to be baptized and return to him, and he's goning to help us achieve this in any way that he can. As long as we are trying, he will make up for everything else.

I love you guys soooo much<3<3<3

Love,

Hermana Crofts
